Enroll and Diversify with an Alpine Pro Contract
Sep 04, 2026
Enrollment Ends on September 30th
By GCC Grain Origination Team
The season is upon us once again, and we are excited to offer our winter wheat contract, Alpine Pro. This contract prices July 2027 (new crop) wheat futures and provides a unique pricing opportunity while helping reduce the stress of marketing a summer crop. If hail, freeze damage, or another unforeseen weather-related loss occurs, producers can be released from their bushel obligation after their insurance provider verifies crop failure.
Wheat bushels will be actively traded from October 1, 2026, through June 1, 2027. During this trading window, producers can secure their basis price at any time. Any basis not established by the cutoff date of June 1, 2027, will be automatically fixed at the prevailing location on that day.
To determine futures prices, our dedicated team at GCC uses a comprehensive approach that includes various committee pricing methods to ensure a fair and accurate assessment. For context, at the close of the pricing window on April 30th, bushels enrolled in our 2026 Alpine Pro contract were set at a futures price of $5.88.
Producers can enroll bushels in increments of 1,000 bu, or in a volume that you’re comfortable with. However, we recommend not contracting more than 30% of your average production. We believe this contract could be a valuable addition to your marketing program!
Alpine Pro is just one tool we are excited to offer once again to add diversification and value to your grain marketing portfolio. Enrollment ends on September 30th - contact a member of the Grain Team today to sign up your bushels and see whether this contract is a good fit for your operation!
